St Georges Day is a very important day in the Scouting calendar. It's a day to renew our promise and reflect on what that means. We promise to do our best. And that's all we can want from everyone in Scouting.

I am so proud of our group and would like to thank all the young people for how well behaved and brilliant they were. I would like to thank the parents and carers for their support with either walking along with the parade or buying a cake and drink. As I said on the day, we are a charity run by volunteers. All proceeds go towards keeping the HQ warm and safe and to providing the best programme for the young people.

I would like to thank the leaders for giving up yet another morning to help guide our young people safely along the route.

A big thank you to Lee Springett (AGSL) and family for providing the road closures that kept our young people safe from vehicles.

And a special thank you to Andy King (Section Leader - Saxon Cubs) for organising the event and getting everyone organised (particularly me!).

Yours in Scouting,

Tom Collinson
